assuming you got GNS3 up and running already

requirements

make sure you’ve got the i386 flavor of the dynamips package, see the GNS3 install guide

Cisco 7200 Series Router

grab the gns3a appliance

#grep filename cisco-7200.gns3a

–or– rather directly from the UI

New template --> install an appliance from GNS3 server
Routers --> Cisco 7200

and grab the image from some place – you might find something close and it’s good enough

Import ~/Downloads/...

the image has been copied over there

ls -lhF ~/GNS3/images/IOS/

you can now configure the hardware

General / auto start console
Slots / C7200-IO-2FE --> 2 x fa
Slots / PA-GE --> 2 x gi
