Operating your old Nokia with Ubuntu/Mint

Pairing the devices with Blueman

Install Blueman instead of MATE’s built-in Blueberry (right-click -> quit) tool,

sudo apt install blueman
blueman-manager

Note. also disable it at desktop’s startup (Blueman is already added).

And link your phone with the PC,

Create pairing with the device

Administrating the phone with Wammu / Gammu

sudo apt install gammu wammu
wammu

Guided configuration
Bluetooth
Nokia phone
Nokia proprietary protocol
Phonet tru Bluetooth
<enter MAC address>

Retrieve -> Contacts all
Retrieve -> Calendar

as root (change vendor & product id accordingly adding an x),

lsusb
modprobe usbserial vendor=0x421 product=0x802
apt install wvdial
wvdialconf create

note the line e.g.,

ttyACM0<*1>: Max speed is 230400; that should be safe.

tune the tool,

cd /etc/
cp -pi wvdial.conf wvdial.conf.dist
vi wvdial.conf
